Today was a very pleasing Goodwill day. We picked up this really cool Fisher Price globe (circa 1988) for 1.99. It lights up and has a little viewer with slides that are supposed to represent the country you are looking at. It doesn't turn very well and the slides get stuck so I thing we might just use it as an interesting lamp. The kids are loving it and I think we might need to pick up a current globe sometime soon (Hello Union of Soviet Socialist Republics!)
We used to have a cute little wagon with high sides that the little kiddos could easily ride in (ages 1 & 3) but the back wheel broke off and can't be repaired. We picked up a replacement but the sides are so short that I'm always afraid the kids will topple out. I've been eying this Radio Flyer Pathfinder Wagon, complete with pop up seats and cup holders, and it retails for about 80 bucks. That's a little steep in my book so we've been dealing with the scary sides wagon. But today, alas, I found this beauty for 9.99. Score! Granted, it is caked in dirt and has pine straw stuck in the bottom, but dude, a hose and a magic eraser will clean that up lickety split! After I found the wagon, I felt like I was doing a victory walk through the Goodwill. Other women pointed and shook their heads at the 9.99 price tag as I walked by, a few offering me more if they could have it. Most of the time I find nothing, but today we have a victory!PS- I also found a mystery Pyrex dish, but more on that later!
