Today I was feeling crafty so I decided to make some cozy pants for the wee one. We here at the Allen house LOVE cozy pants. These pants literally took 15 minutes to make from beginning to end. I started by tracing a pair of her pants that fit well to make a pattern. I used one of my old t-shirts as the fabric and cut out the pattern. I made the bottom edge of the pant legs line up with the hem of the shirt- no hem pants! I folded the t-shirt in half and lined the inseam up with the fold on the t-shirt. I sewed up the seam of each leg with a knit stitch and then sewed the legs together at the crotch. I rolled the top edge over and made an elastic casing, threaded the elastic through, and sewed the casing shut. Voila! Easy pants! I think our little miss is enjoying them :) This is a great way to repurpose those old clothes you love but don't fit!
